Over the past five months, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to complete my co-op placement at Stone Tree. This experience has been more than just a learning opportunity—it’s been a chance to grow creatively, work with a supportive team, and gain real-world skills in a fun and fast-paced environment. Here are five key takeaways from my time at Stone Tree:
Real-World Experience in Graphic Design and Marketing
I had the chance to put my creativity to work through graphic design projects, flyers, posters and social media posts. From creating posters to social media graphics, I learned how to create visuals that not only look good but also communicate effectively with the target audience.
Planning and Executing Large-Scale Events
One of the most exciting parts of my co-op was being involved in planning and running large-scale events. Whether it was a themed golf Ladies’ Night or an event organized by an outside party, I saw firsthand how much work goes into every detail—from organizing timelines and set up, to pricing and food costs.
The Art of Event Setup and Take Down
Behind every successful event is a lot of hard work—especially when it comes to setting up and tearing down. I learned how to efficiently organize spaces, troubleshoot on the fly, and pay attention to the little details that make a big difference in a guests experience.
A Welcoming, Team-Oriented Environment
What made my time at Stone Tree truly special was the people. The staff welcomed me with open arms and always made me feel like part of the team. Their guidance, encouragement, and willingness to help made every task enjoyable, and I always felt supported in my learning.
Creative Freedom and Collaboration
Being involved in events like Ladies’ Night gave me the chance to use my creativity in fun and meaningful ways. From theme planning to decor ideas, I loved being part of a process that combined imagination with teamwork—and seeing our ideas come to life was incredibly rewarding.
My co-op at Stone Tree has been an unforgettable experience filled with growth, fun, and learning. I’m thankful for everything I’ve learned and for the amazing team that helped make it all possible.
